Zach - it was a long time ago. I just remember that it didn't work out. But he sure did get to come in for an interview!

After reading this blog post I didn't know whether I should be intimidated or relieved. I am in the search of an intern position with a web analytics firm (the reason I stumbled upon this blog post); so I should say that I am grateful to benefit from your perspective on writing cover letters. I don't consider myself an "intern wannabe", however, I realized I was falling into that trap you described as "stilted prose". So thank you. But I wonder, how DID the interview go?

I will be taking classes at the University of British Columbia, I joined the web analytics association, and have a real love for anything analytical. Can you offer any advice or opinions when it comes to requesting internships with companies that do not have them posted? I am really looking for something that is mutually beneficial. I am not a young college student - I recently returned and will be completing my degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in December. My classes at UBC in Web Analytics will be completed at the same time also.

Thank you for this post.
