I am in the search of an intern position with a web analytics firm (the reason I stumbled upon this blog post); so I should say that I am grateful to benefit from your perspective on writing cover letters. I don't consider myself an "intern wannabe", however, I realized I was falling into that trap you described as "stilted prose". So thank you. But I wonder, how DID the interview go? I will be taking classes at the University of British Columbia, I joined the web analytics association, and have a real love for anything analytical. Can you offer any advice or opinions when it comes to requesting internships with companies that do not have them posted? I am really looking for something that is mutually beneficial. I am not a young college student - I recently returned and will be completing my degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in December.
