Should I bring my laptop (and will there be Internet access?)
The decision is yours, but we do recommend it. There will be broadband for all (no charge), and with your laptop, you can also try out some of the new techniques and ideas we will be teaching about. The last session of the day includes an optional lab where we will help you with your own Google Analytics account and answer all of your questions, so might really appreciate your laptop at that time. The rooms will have tables/desks, so that you won't be balancing your coffee/laptop and briefcase.

Something might come up at the last minute, can I cancel for a full refund?

You can cancel until the close of business on Tuesday, December 2. Send email to info@lunametrics.com. After that, if you can't make it, you can still send someone in your place. And if you think you would like to come, but are just a little worried that it might not work for you, we strongly encourage you to register.

Will I be able to follow along?
Yes, everyone who comes will get a printed binder. It will include not just slides but also white papers that address specific subjects that are always of interest to Google Analytics users.

How appropriate is it for my level of knowledge?
We worked really hard to please a variety of people who work with GA, such as: Those who are newer to GA and want to read their reports; those who have experience with GA and need to do in-depth analysis; and those who want to do configuration.

    8:00
    Continental Breakfast and Welcome.

    8:45
Room 1: Google Analytics 101 (): This is a tour through a live set of GA data, and shows you how to get reports and make sense of it all. This is for beginners and those who don't work with GA as often as they would like.
Room 2: Case Studies: "Aha!" Moments We've Had with Google Analytics (): We will go through a variety of sites where the use of GA showed us the issues that the websites faced.

    10:00
Room 1: Using the GA Tools to Manipulate the Data and See a Story ( ): This session is for both those who have little experience with GA (learn how to use all those tools) and for those with lots of experience (learn why to use all those tools).
Room 2: Regular Expressions, Profiles & Filters ( ): This session will start with a very brief introduction to the workhorse of GA configuration, Regular Expressions. However, the session will primarily be about what is a profile, how to create a profile and why, what are the "gotchas" and how filters let you determine what subset of data gets into a particular profile.

    11:00
Room 1: Actionable Insight: Use Your GA to Make Business Decisions ( ): Here we'll show you how to skip all the excess data and just focus on the reports - and drill into them - to learn what you are doing wrong (or right!) with your website.
Room 2: Advanced Goals, Funnels, & Site Search ( ): This sessions starts out with configuring your site search, but quickly moves on to covering goals and funnels. How goals work in GA, how to define a goal, when/how to use Regular expressions, common pitfalls and the like. Some of this will be helpful to beginners, but true beginners who want to learn about goals should wait to do The Two Big GA Questions: How Do I Integrate My Email Marketing? How Do I Set Up Goals? (right after lunch).

    12:45
Room 1: The Two Big GA Questions: How Do I Integrate My Email Marketing? How Do I Set Up Goals? ( ): Even though you may be involved in analysis - and not configuration - many analysts are frustrated that their other Internet marketing doesn't integrate with GA, and that they have no goals on their website. This will be an easy introduction to both topics.
Room 2: Plugins & Workarounds for Analysis & Setup ( ): Even if you don't do configuration, analysts are encouraged to attend this session, as it will include plugins for analysis, too. This is "the best of the best" - the workarounds that the Google Analytic Authorized Consultants create for themselves.

    1:45
Room 1: Test Your Site: Google Website Optimizer ( ): This course will be taught as if everyone in the audience is new to Website Optimizer. (Website Optimizer is Google's free tool which allows websites to do split testing and multivariate testing.)
Room 2: Tracking Code, Campaign Tagging & E-commerce Implementation (): This session will briefly address how to tag a page and how to tag campaigns, with a discussion on issues that companies face when doing redirects. It will them move on to e-commerce tracking, talking about the JavaScript used to do the tracking, potential pitfalls and gotchas, and getting the dynamic values into the JavaScript.

    3:00
Room 1: Optimizing AdWords and Pay-Per-Click Campaigns ( ): This will start as a brief introduction to AdWords (for those who are new to it) and will quickly go into more complex ways to fine tune them, with a special emphasis on how GA can help.
Room 2: User-Defined Variables, Cross- & Sub-Domain Tracking (): This session will discuss how to code user defined variables , the problems and limitations, possible workarounds, and what to expect in the reporting interface in different situations. It will then move on to sub-domain and cross domain tracking, how to modify the GA tracking code to allow for one or both conditions, ways to automate the linking between domains, etc.

    4:00
Room 1: Lab ( ): Bring your laptop and let us help you with your own GA. This is a chance for you to collaborate with each other and with us, as you work on your own Google Analytics. Whether you're doing analysis, understanding reports, configuring your GA, or debugging your AdWords/GA integration, this is the session for you. Even if you don't have a laptop, we can help you get your questions answered.
Room 2 : Getting the Rest of the Company on Board: 10 Ways to Create a Data-Driven Culture ( ): This short session is for everyone, at all levels -- it focuses on overcoming office politics so that others care about your analytics work.

    5:15
